Carl Richko is a 50+ year resident of the Highlands Region and has long championed preservation of areas near reservoirs, both as a way to protect the state’s water resources as well as conserve open space.

He is a former mayor of West Milford Township and formerly served on the Board of Directors and as Vice President of the Pequannock River Coalition.  Mr. Richko was the 2010 recipient of West Milford’s Mary Haase Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award.  He is a former member of the Passaic County Open Space Committee and served as Vice Chairman of the Highlands Municipal Property Tax Stabilization Board.

Mr. Richko is a graduate of Texas A&M University and a retired educator from the Sparta school system.
