November 14 through 18 is NJOEM's Winter Weather Awareness Week

(TRENTON, NJ) – Colonel Rick Fuentes, Superintendent of New Jersey State Police and Director of the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, will celebrate Winter Weather Awareness Week beginning Monday, November 14 and ending Friday, November 18.

Each day will bring a new message for family preparedness during the winter months.

The week's messages will include:

  • Monday: Nor'easters, Wind and Coastal Flooding

  • Tuesday: Blizzards, Snowstorms and Power Outages

  • Wednesday: Wind Chill, Frostbite and Hypothermia

  • Thursday: Ice and Road Hazards; Road Safety

  • Friday: Family Safety Overview: Your Winter Supply Kit; Winterizing Your Home; Outdoor Safety for Children and Adults
