Social service and health care providers, voluntary organizations active in disaster and community-based organizations have unique knowledge, skills and experiences which can inform
planning, improve response, and help insure that special needs populations have access to emergency facilities, communication and programs. These groups will be considered key stakeholders in the
emergency planning process and assets to disaster management programs.
In the Spring of 2011, the NJOEM will be offering a “Disaster Business Continuity Planning Template” and training to support the template for providers of services to functional needs populations,
free of charge. To receive information when the template is available, please email Mary Goepfert at lppgoepm@gw.njsp.org.
The NJOEM is working with the NJ Department of Human Services, FEMA, the NJ State VOAD and the Governor’s Office of Victim’s Assistance to develop a State Disaster Case Management Plan.
Details on this project will be available soon.
