The mission of the New Jersey State Police Investigations Branch is to prevent, disrupt, and interdict organized crime, terrorism, violent criminals, and illegal activity that undermine public safety and security in the State of New Jersey. Our mandate is to do so by facilitating intelligence exchange, employing pro-active investigative measures, and by applying the most sophisticated forensic science techniques to gather evidence, document illegal activity, and arrest those responsible for illicit activity.

The New Jersey State Police Investigations Branch is actively working to eliminate architectural barriers in an effort to promote and increase information and intelligence sharing both internally within the Branch and Division of State Police, as well as externally to our partners in law enforcement. To this end, the Investigations branch has adopted an intelligence-led policing model and participated in active intelligence sharing through our participation in the development and promotion of the Regional Operations Intelligence Center (ROIC). It is this participation in the Regional Operations Intelligence Center that enables us to provide timely investigative and intelligence sharing briefings to our law-enforcement partners. Additionally, through implementation of the new Statewide Intelligence Management System we continue to formulate new, and strengthen existing, partnerships with allied agencies involved in proactive investigations. Finally, by integrating forensic resources and expertise throughout the Investigations Branch in our day to day investigative mission, we seek to more thoroughly and effectively serve the State of New Jersey.
