NJSP Seeking Volunteers for Domestic Violence Response Teams

West Trenton - The New Jersey State Police and partnering domestic violence advocacy groups are seeking volunteers for Domestic Violence Response Teams (DVRT) in Mercer County, specifically for the Hamilton State Police Station and State House along with local Police Departments.

Volunteer advocates will work in conjunction with the New Jersey State Police to provide support, information, referrals, and a safety planning to victims of domestic violence.

Volunteers must attend a free mandatory, 40-hour training course, possess a valid driver’s license, be willing to serve on an on-call shift basis, and submit to a background investigation and fingerprinting.

Anyone interested in applying as a volunteer should contact the Domestic Violence Response Team Coordinator Heidi Mueller at (609) 394-0136.  Applications must be received by February 5th 2016.  For further information contact Heidi Mueller of Womanspace at dvvrt@womanspace.org  or Alison Daks at sass@womanspace.org or (609) 394-0136
