Troopers Arrest Cumberland County
Men for Attempted Home Invasion

Stow Creek Township, Cumberland County, N.J. – On Tuesday, June 11, troopers from Bridgeton Station responded to a Stow Creek Township residence and arrested two Cumberland County men after an attempted home invasion.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Bridgeton Station troopers and detectives from the Troop A Criminal Investigation Office responded to a residence on Wills Road to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowners told troopers that someone broke a first floor window and removed an item from their residence.

Troopers immediately conducted an intense search with assistance from the State Police Aviation and K-9 units. Responding troopers located a vehicle off of the road and a person running into the woods. Two handguns were immediately recovered from inside of the vehicle, and one of the suspects, identified as Bruce Bader, 24, of Upper Deerfield was found hiding nearby and arrested. Troopers learned the second suspect, Blaine Stanton, 23, of Seabrook fled the area in a stolen Ford F150 pickup truck.

Troopers and detectives responded to Stanton’s residence on First Avenue in Seabrook and established surveillance. A short time later, Stanton was observed walking towards his home after he parked the stolen F150 in a near by driveway. He attempted to flee again, but was caught and arrested after a brief struggle.

Further investigation determined that Bader and Stanton planned to conduct an armed home invasion of the Wills Road residence. Detectives learned that both men fled the area after Stanton accidentally fired his handgun while Bader broke the window with his handgun.

On Wednesday, June 12, State Police detectives executed a search warrant at the residence of Stanton, 1109 First Avenue, Seabrook. Investigators discovered a marijuana growing facility, seized approximately a half pound of marijuana, and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Blaine Stanton, 23, of Seabrook was charged with:
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
Possession of Firearm Unlawful Purpose
