State Police Arrest Second Person For Murder Of Lisa Armstrong

Trenton City, N.J. – On June 13, 2014, detectives from the New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit, Troop “C” Criminal Investigation Office, and Fugitive Unit arrested Lorain Hawkins, 47, of Trenton, for the October 7, 2013 murder of Lisa Armstrong.  The arrest of Hawkins, who was the victim’s narcotics anonymous sponsor, grew out of the eight-month murder investigation.

On October 8, 2013, surveyors discovered the body of Lisa Armstrong, which was located just a few yards into the woods along Route 206 in Tabernacle Township.  It was later determined that Armstrong died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to the head.  Just four days later, on Saturday, October 12, 2013, State Police arrested Terrance Patterson, 37, of Trenton for the murder of Armstrong. He was charged with felony murder, and kidnapping.

As detectives conducted their investigation, they suspected that Patterson did not act alone.  Through various investigative means, they discovered that Hawkins was a co-conspirator.  Additionally, detectives believe that Hawkins and Patterson robbed the victim.  Hawkins was arrested at her home and charged with felony murder, robbery, and kidnapping.  She was lodged at the Burlington County Jail in default of $500,000 full cash bail.  The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office will be prosecuting this case.
