New Jersey’s domestic preparedness and security. Its
mission is to
-
Assist counties in developing and staffing Voluntary Organizations
Active in Disasters (VOADs);
-
Assist County Offices of Emergency Management with training
initiatives;
-
Organize education and outreach programs regarding disaster
planning and public health preparedness;
-
Provide guidance on volunteer and donations management;
and
-
Assist in the development and maintenance of a statewide
database and communications mechanism.
AmeriCorps is the national service program, sometimes
called “the domestic Peace Corps,” that engages
citizens of all ages and backgrounds in community service.
The NJ Secure Corps seeks people of all ages and backgrounds
and is particularly interested in individuals who have backgrounds
in national and international service, disaster preparedness,
emergency response, community organizing, health care, volunteer
