Clark, Executive Director CALL TO ORDER The regular monthly meeting of the Acupuncture Examining Board was called to order at 124 Halsey Street at 9:30 a.m., all members having been notified of the time, date and, place and materials pertinent hereto having been provided. SUNSHINE LAW In compliance with Chapter 231 the Public Law of 1975, notice of this was sent to the Courier-Post and the Record. II. MINUTES A motion was made to approve the March 28, 2007 minutes with amendment indicating Dr. Barbara Montana’s absence. The motion was made by Henry McCann and seconded by Mimi Vassilev-Baker. The motion carried by unanimous vote. III. APPLICATION REVIEW a. Simone Kredo Pursuant to NJSA 45:2C-9C and NJAC 13:35 - 9.3a (3) any applicant for licensure must have a traditional, free-standing baccalaureate degree in order to qualify. The Board determined that Ms. Kredo did not qualify for licensure without the traditional bachelors degree. Chair Direct IV. APPLICATION REVIEW (cont) b. Dae Kwon Cho Pursuant to NJSA 45:2C - 9C and NJAC 13:35 - 9.3a (3) Mr. Cho does not qualify for licensure without a traditional, free-standing bachelors degree. If he is able to produce a B.A. degree, the board will review his application again. Chair Direct. c. Wei Cao The board reviewed her application for licensure and found that she needs to take TOEFL examination and she needs an updated evaluation, preferably from the International Consultants of Delaware. Ms. Cao also needs to have her transcript from the East-West school translated and she needs to let the board know whether the East West School was accredited by ACAOM. Chair Direct. V. PROPOSED REGULATIONS Legislative Review– Senate Bill No. 2489. The Board takes no position on this legislation. VI. CALENDAR Board decides on dates for 2008 meetings; every second Wednesday of the month. Henry McCann made a motion to proceed to Executive Session, seconded by Mimi Vassilev-Baker, to consider and review advertisement, consumer complaints and other information received pursuant to the Board’s investigative authority in order to determine whether violations of law, including Board regulations, have occurred. The results of these deliberations will be made know when, and if, the Board chooses to issue a Uniform Penalty Letter, the action will be taken in Public Session immediately after the Executive Session.
