Curriculum for 1200-hour Cosmetology and Hairstyling Course

Take notice that the Division of Consumer Affairs discovered errors in the text of N.J.A.C. 13:28-6.29. Effective May 18, 2009, the Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling adopted an amendment changing the name of a class from "Sanitation & Sterilization" to "Decontamination & Infection Control," but did not change any of the required hours for the specific course or for the entire 1200-hour curriculum. (see 40 N.J.R. 6739(a) and 41 N.J.R. 2124(a)). However, in the production of the 5-18-09 Code Update, the total hours for the three columns in the table setting forth the 1200-hour curriculum erroneously appeared as "180," "320" and "500," even though they were not amended from their previous column totals of "343," "857" and "1200," respectively, in the rulemaking. This notice of administrative corrections restoring the correct column hour totals is published pursuant to N.J.A.C. 1:30-2.7.
