V OLD BUSINESS

A-2146 which revises the regulation of Landscape Architects

DAG Albertson announced that legislation to revise the regulation of landscape architects under bill A-2146 has been introduced and voted out of the Assembly Committee reflecting the board?s comments. There are two changes in the bill that the Board has concerns with, first there is no exemption language for Architects and Professional Engineers and second, the requirements for architects and engineers to become licensed Landscape Architects appears to be more stringent than for an initial applicant for licensure. On February 28th, Mr. DeMassi motioned that the Board opposes bill A-2146 in its current format. Ms. Schlegel seconded the motion. It passed unanimously. The Board however, supports the licensing of landscape architects.

3/13/08 Burt Liebman, Legislative Liaison will be present to discuss this with the Board.
