NEW BUSINESS
1. NJ PURE MALPRACTICE INSURANCE
NJ Pure is requesting that the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners issue an official opinion regarding its requirement that policies with defense cost offset features must meet the N.J.A.C. 11:13-7.3's requirement in order to fulfill the coverage requirement promulgated by the Board. Furthermore, they are urging the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners to issue a statement to New Jersey physicians urging them to be informed of the various pitfalls of purchasing this type of RRG policy. The Executive Committee requested that a committee of the Board be appointed to determine whether or not regulatory changes are appropriate.
2. LEGISLATION
A2504 Seeks to require certain ambulatory care facilities to provide services to patients without regard to ability to pay or source of payment On or about March 13, 2008, it was introduced and referred to the Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee.
