Attention: Home Improvement Contractors. If you are applying for a contractor registration or trying to re-instate your expired registration please read the following notice. The Division is experiencing a very heavy volume of mail and telephone calls. We are processing your requests as quickly as possible and in the order in which they are received. To check the status of your registration click here and enter the town in which your business is registered. If your registration status is "active" but you have not received your new registration document, call 1(973) 273-8090, follow the prompts and a registration verification letter will be faxed to you immediately which will allow you to work until your registration arrives in the mail. If your status is "expired" or "pending" please re-check the website after 5 business days.
