The State of New Jersey has established a Drug Control Unit within the Department of Law and Public Safety, for the purpose of assisting in the enforcement of those provisions of the New Jersey Controlled Dangerous Substances ("C.D.S") Act which relate to persons who, or firms that, manufacture, prescribe, distribute, dispense or conduct research or analysis utilizing controlled substances.
New Jersey Prescription Blanks (NJPBs) Notice of Extension
The Division of Consumer Affairs is extending the last date to use old prescription blanks. You may use the old and new prescription blanks through September 19, 2014. Effective September 20, 2014, prescriptions must be issued only on the new prescription blanks
If you have not already placed your orders for new prescription blanks, do so immediately. Do not delay; order your new prescription blanks today. A list of approved printer vendors is available on the Division's website at http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/njpb.
The new prescription blanks are being accepted. Prescriptions written on or before September 19, 2014 on the old prescription blanks will also be accepted. Effective September 20, 2014, new prescription blanks must be used.
Note: Patient prescriptions originally written on or before September 19, 2014 will be filled at a New Jersey pharmacy pursuant to the guidelines set forth in N.J.A.C. 13:39-7.3 for non-Controlled Dangerous Substances (non-CDS) and N.J.A.C. 13:45H-7.5 for Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS).
