A meeting of the New Jersey Midwifery Liaison Committee was held on June 18, 2007 at the State Office Building, 124 Halsey Street, 3 rd, Newark, New Jersey. The meeting was convened in accordance with the provision of the Open Public Meetings Act with previous notification having been sent to the Secretary of State and the following publications: The Bergen Record, Newark Star Ledger, Camden Courier Post, Trenton Times and Asbury Park Press to advise of the scheduling of this meeting. The meeting was called to order by Karen Criss, Chair of the Committee at 12:30 PM.

II. MINUTES

APPROVAL OF THE PUBLIC SESSION MINUTES OF APRIL 23, 2007.

A motion was made by Ms. Aurichio, which was seconded by Ms. Aucott, to approve the Public Session Minutes of April 18, 2007 as amended

III. OLD BUSINESS

A. N.J.A.C. 13:35-2A.2 :Definitions. 13:35-2A.6; Affiliated Physicians. Proposed changes

Regulatory Analyst Charles Manning, presented a final draft of the proposed regulation incorporating changes and amendments suggested by the committee. .

The Committee, upon motion made by Ms. Aurichio and seconded by Ms. Aucott moved to approve the final draft for publication in the New Jersey Register.

IV. MEETING SCHEDULE

The August committee meeting will be held on August 27 in Trenton. If the August meeting is cancelled or done by phone conference, then the October meeting will be held in Trenton. If the August meeting takes place as scheduled, then the meeting in October will remain in Newark

V. CORRESPONDENCE

Committee member Louise Aucott, distributed an article published by the Department of Ob Gyn, Division of Reproductive Science . University of Colorado titled: "The Marginalization of Midwives in the United States"

The Committee accepted this material as informational

VI. ADJOURNMENT TO EXECUTIVE SESSION

A motion was made by Ms. Aucott, seconded by Ms. Aurichio to go into Executive Session for advice of Counsel.

VII. ADJOURNMENT

A MOTION WAS MADE BY MS. AUCOTT AND SECONDED BY MS. DANSER TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 3:30 PM. MOTION PASSED.
