MINUTES: NOVEMBER 15, 2007 PUBLIC SESSION MINUTES APPROVAL

I. RULES AND REGULATIONS

MODALITIES

Council to continue working on regulations regarding modalities. Submitted to the Council is a revised draft of the O.T. modalities rule that the Council intends to publish as a pre-proposal, provided by Maryann Sheehan, Regulatory Analyst.

SUNSET

At the November 15, 2007 meeting, Regulatory Analyst, Maryann Sheehan, advised the Council regarding the procedures to follow for the upcoming rules and regulation sunset in 2008. Submitted to the Council is the current regulation to be reviewed.

II. CORRESPONDENCE

A. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) (at meeting)

Submitted to the Council for informational purpose is a copy of a document titled, Changes in Healthcare Professions? Scope of Practice: Legislative Consideration, developed to assist legislators and regulatory organizations with making decisions about changes in to healthcare professions? scope of practice, attempting to address scope of practice from a public protection viewpoint.

B. The American Occupational Therapy Association (at meeting)

Submitted to the Council for reference/review is the November/December 2007, Volume 61/Number 6 of The American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT), received from AOTA.

C. Interpretation request of Regulation (NJ ADC 13:44K-2)

Submitted to the Council for review is a letter from an Occupational Therapist, Beth Scott, license 46TR00237700, requesting interpretation of the regulation NJ ADC 13:44K-2 (Responsibilities of designated supervisor).

III. NEW BUSINESS

REINSTATEMENT

Submitted to the Council for review is a list of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants, who did not renew their license on line by the expiration date 9/30/07 and continued to work until they received a termination letter generated after the 30 day grace period given, to renew on line with a late fee ended 10/31/07.
