CALL TO ORDER

The meeting of the Home Inspection Advisory Committee was called to order by Vice- Chairman Michael Del Greco at 9:40 a.m. in the Monmouth Conference Room, seventh floor, 124 Halsey Street, Newark, New Jersey. All parties were duly notified of the time, date and place and all pertinent material had been provided.

SUNSHINE LAW ANNOUNCEMENT

Joseph Grabowy read the statement required by Chapter 231, Laws of 1975, known as the Open Public Meetings Act, and announced that notice of the meeting was prepared in the office of the Committee and mailed to the Secretary of State, the Star Ledger, the Courier Post, the Bergen Record and the Atlantic City Press.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

April 17, 2007

The Committee, on a motion by CM Casper, seconded by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, unanimously voted to approve the minutes of April 17, 2007 as amended.

REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Executive Director Russo updated the Committee with the following licensing statistics:

Total Licensed Home Inspectors 680
Total Reinstatements Pending 1
Total Suspended Home Inspectors 1
Total Expired Home Inspectors 15
Total Inactive Home Inspectors 55
Total Pending/Incomplete Home Inspector Applications 131*

* Includes application files deemed incomplete, abandoned, and those approved but never activated since the licensure fees were never remitted to the Committee office.

On a motion by CM Casper, seconded by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, the Committee voted to delegate authority to administrative staff to place licenses in inactive status upon their request.

Incoming Correspondence

#1 Peter G. Engle, PE
Re: John J. Christiano #24GI00052800
April 20, 2007

Mr. Engle has requested from the Committee any information (copy of his insurance certificate) related to Mr. Christiano, a licensed home inspector. Specifically, whether he was licensed under the grandfather provision, or, if he was granted his license based on a referral by the Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as a licensed PE.

The Committee approved Mr. Engle’s request and will provide him a copy of Mr. Christiano’s certificate of insurance.

#2 Joseph A. Collins, Jr.
Re: HI License # 24GI00057200.
April 10, 2007

Mr. Collins wrote the Committee requesting to place his home inspector license into inactive status until further notice.

The Committee vote to place Mr. Collins’ license into inactive status and will also advise him that, at the appropriate time, he will need to contact the office in order to reactivate his license.

#3 Matthew R. Martin, PE
Re: Continuing Education Credits.
April 30, 2007

Mr. Martin wrote the Committee to request an extension of time to complete his continuing education credits.

The Committee granted Mr. Martin’s request for an extension of time to complete his continuing education credit requirements until July 31, 2007.

#4 Scott Gross
Re: HI License
April 30, 2007

Mr. Gross wrote to inform the Committee of his career change and that he would no longer be actively performing any home inspections. He would like to place his license into inactive status.

The Committee will place Mr. Gross’ license into inactive status and will advise him that at the appropriate time, he will need to contact the office in order to reactivate his license.

#5 Tomasz Smietanka
Re: Continuing Education Credits.
April 30, 2007

Mr. Smietanka wrote the Committee requesting an extension of time to complete his continuing education credit requirements.

The Committee granted Mr. Martin’s request for an extension of time to complete his continuing education credit requirements until July 31, 2007.

On a motion contained in the Executive Session minutes, the Committee re-entered into Public Session to adjourn.

ADJOURNMENT

On a motion by CM Casper, seconded by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, the Committee voted to adjourn the meeting at 4:00PM.
