HOME INSPECTION CALL TO ORDER The meeting of the Home Inspection Advisory Committee was called to order by Chairman Michael Fitzpatrick at 10:15 a.m. in the Monmouth Conference Room, seventh floor, 124 Halsey Street, Newark, New Jersey. All parties were duly notified of the time, date and place and all pertinent material had been provided. SUNSHINE LAW ANNOUNCEMENT Ernest Gonzalez read the statement required by Chapter 231, Laws of 1975, known as the Open Public Meetings Act, and announced that notice of the meeting was prepared in the office of the Committee and mailed to the Secretary of State, the Star Ledger, the Courier Post, the Bergen Record and the Atlantic City Press. APPROVAL OF MINUTES December 12, 2006 The Committee, on a motion by CM Del Greco, seconded by Chairman Fitzpatrick, unanimously voted to approve the minutes of December 12, 2006 as submitted. REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Executive Director Russo updated the Committee with the following licensing statistics: Total Licensed Home Inspectors 668 Total Reinstatement Pending 1 Total Suspended Home Inspectors 1 Total Deceased Home Inspectors 1 Total Expired Home Inspectors 19 Total Inactive Home Inspectors 26 Total Pending/Incomplete Home Inspector Applications 127 The Committee, on a motion by CM Del Greco, second by Chairman Fitzpatrick, unanimously voted to add a new section in the statistics that would reflect applicants who have not actively pursued licensure for more than one year. It also directed that language be inserted in the instructions to advise future applicants that if they fail to submit all required information in order to complete their application for Committee review within one (1) year of its submission, the application will be considered abandoned. An applicant seeking licensure whose first application was deemed abandoned will be required to initiate the application process again, including submitting a new application and the corresponding fee. Bruce Michaels Mr. Michaels wrote the Committee to address the issues with the Middlesex County College Vo-tech home inspector mentoring program. The Committee noted Mr. Michael’s correspondence for the record. Outgoing Correspondence
Randy Trivette, NJ Department of Education Previously, the Committee wrote Mr. Trivette informing him of the fifteen (15) students taking the home inspector curriculum at Middlesex County College who maintain that they are experiencing difficulty in obtaining the required 40 hours of field-based inspections as part of the regular home inspector curriculum at that school. The Committee requested that the staff contact Loretta Keimel, Middlesex County Vocational School, and Randy Trivette in order to have them appear at a future meeting to discuss this issue. REVIEW OF HOME INSPECTION APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSURE On a motion by Chairman Fitzpatrick, seconded by CM Del Greco, the Committee unanimously voted to approve the following applications for licensure:

MOVE TO EXECUTIVE SESSION On a motion by CM Del Greco, seconded by Chairman Fitzpatrick, the Committee unanimously voted to enter into Executive Session to review disciplinary matters. RETURN TO PUBLIC On a motion contained within the Executive Session minutes, the Committee voted to return to Public Session to adjourn. ADJOURNMENT On a motion by CM Del Greco, second by Chairman Fitzpatrick, the Committee voted to adjourn the meeting at 2:00PM.
