HOME INSPECTION CALL TO ORDER The meeting of the Home Inspection Advisory Committee was called to order by Chairman Michael Fitzpatrick at 10:00 a.m. in the Monmouth Conference Room, seventh floor, 124 Halsey Street, Newark, New Jersey. All parties were duly notified of the time, date and place and all pertinent material had been provided. SUNSHINE LAW ANNOUNCEMENT Joseph Grabowy read the statement required by Chapter 231, Laws of 1975, known as the Open Public Meetings Act, and announced that notice of the meeting was prepared in the office of the Committee and mailed to the Secretary of State, the Star Ledger, the Courier Post, the Bergen Record and the Atlantic City Press. APPROVAL OF MINUTES January 09, 2007 The Committee, on a motion by CM Del Greco, seconded by Chairman Fitzpatrick, unanimously voted to approve the minutes of January 9, 2007 as submitted. REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Executive Director Russo updated the Committee with the following licensing statistics: Total Licensed Home Inspectors 679 Total Reinstatements Pending 2 Total Suspended Home Inspectors 1 Total Deceased Home Inspectors 1 Total Expired Home Inspectors 18 Total Inactive Home Inspectors 25 Total Pending/Incomplete Home Inspector Applications 122 Incoming Correspondence
#1 Andrew Grando Mr. Grando wrote the Committee requesting that his home inspection license be placed on hold since he cannot afford his errors and omission Insurance at this time. The Committee will place Mr. Grando’s license in inactive status and will advise him that at the appropriate time he will need to contact the Committee office to reactivate his license.
#2 Ernie Borsellino Mr. Borsellino wrote the Committee requesting that it reconsider its recent denial of CEU credits for the 18 hour course given by ASHI on January 17-20, 2007 in Anaheim, CA. The Committee will advise Mr. Borsellino, who was present during the meeting, that his continuing education application lacked a detailed explanation of the ASHI course contents and to resubmit with additional information for further review/ reconsideration. #3 Douglas Sward Acceptance of terms from the settlement proposed by the Committee. However, he requested that the Committee review his correspondence. Mr. Sward accepted the terms of the settlement offer previously offered by the Committee. However, he requested that the Committee review his explanation for his failure to have current insurance. The Committee noted Mr. Sward’s correspondence for the record. Outgoing Correspondence NONE REVIEW OF HOME INSPECTION APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSURE On a motion by Chairman Fitzpatrick, seconded by CM Del Greco, the Committee unanimously voted to approve the following applications for licensure:
*Approved pending the receipt of an original certificate of insurance REVIEW OF CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES On a motion by CM Del Greco, seconded by Chairman Fitzpatrick, the Committee unanimously voted to approve the following continuing education courses with the corresponding credits:
PUBLIC MEMBERS & COMMENTS NONE INFORMATIONAL ITEMS NONE MOVE TO EXECUTIVE SESSION On a motion by CM Del Greco, seconded by Chairman Fitzpatrick, the Committee unanimously voted to enter into Executive Session to review disciplinary matters. RETURN TO PUBLIC On a motion contained within the Executive Session minutes, the Committee re-entered into Public Session to adjourn. ADJOURNMENT On a motion by CM Del Greco, seconded by Chairman Fitzpatrick, the Committee voted to adjourn the meeting at 2:00PM.
