HOME INSPECTION CALL TO ORDER The meeting of the Home Inspection Advisory Committee was called to order by Vice- Chairman Michael Del Greco at 9:40 a.m. in the Monmouth Conference Room, seventh floor, 124 Halsey Street, Newark, New Jersey. All parties were duly notified of the time, date and place and all pertinent material had been provided. SUNSHINE LAW ANNOUNCEMENT Joseph Grabowy read the statement required by Chapter 231, Laws of 1975, known as the Open Public Meetings Act, and announced that notice of the meeting was prepared in the office of the Committee and mailed to the Secretary of State, the Star Ledger, the Courier Post, the Bergen Record and the Atlantic City Press. ROLL CALL CMs present: Michael Del Greco CMs absent: Michael Fitzpatrick Others present: Arthur Russo, Executive Director, Olga E. Bradford, Deputy Attorney General, staff member Joseph Grabowy, and six members of the public. APPROVAL OF MINUTES May 8, 2007 The Committee, on a motion by CM Casper, second by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, unanimously voted to approve the minutes of May 8, 2007 as amended. REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Executive Director Russo advised the Committee with the following licensing statistics: Total Licensed Home Inspectors 680 Total Reinstatements Pending 1 Total Suspended Home Inspectors 1 Total Expired Home Inspectors 15 Total Inactive Home Inspectors 55 Total Pending/Incomplete Home Inspector Applications 131* * Includes application files deemed incomplete, abandoned, and those approved but never activated since the licensure fees were never remitted to the Committee office. E.D. Russo discussed an invitation from the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors seeking qualified home inspectors to participate in its annual Item Writing Workshop for the national home inspector examination. On a motion by CM Casper, second by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, CM Casper will contact Executive Director Noel Zak directly to attend the 2007 Item Writing Workshop on July 18, 19, & 20, 2007 in Rosemont, IL. Executive Director Russo discussed a draft letter which shall be sent to all home inspector applicants whose files have been inactive for more than one year. They will be advised that if they do not respond within thirty (30) days of being notified, their application files will be placed into an "abandoned" status, and they will need to re-submit new home inspector applications and pay the appropriate processing fees to the Committee office. On a motion by CM Casper, second by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, the Committee voted to approve the modified letter. E.D. Russo discussed the Committee’s standardized letter advising applicants of their approval for home inspector licensure which was updated to advise new licensees of the need to carry and display their identification card and placard. . On a motion by CM Casper, second by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, the Committee voted to approve the letter as submitted. The Committee discussed moving the July 10, 2007 meeting to August. On a motion by CM Dan Casper, second by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, the Committee voted unanimously to move the July 10,2007 meeting to August 7, 2007. Incoming Correspondence
#1 W. David Goldstein, Director Mr. Goldstein has requested approval of additional continuing education courses and suggested they be listed as "on-going" throughout the 2007-2009 licensure period, rather than listing a specific offering date for each. After reviewing this correspondence the Committee concluded to thank him for his recommendations and his participating in public discussions with its regulatory analyst, Patricia Schiripio, Esq. Regarding regulation changes.
#2 Daniel F. Laverty The Committee reviewed Mr. Laverty’s request and agreed to allow him to commence payment of his civil penalty previously imposed effective July 15, 2007, rather than May 15, 2007. Mr. Laverty’s civil penalty of $5,000 ($278.00 monthly) is to be paid over eighteen (18) continuous months. Outgoing Correspondence NONE APPEARANCE BY PATRICIA SCHIRIPIO, ESQ. TO DISCUSS REGULATION CHANGES The Committee along with Patricia Schiripio, Esq., regulatory analyst, discussed changes to its regulations. Further discussion will be held at subsequent meetings. REVIEW OF HOME INSPECTION APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSURE On a motion by Vice-Chairman Del Greco, seconded by CM Casper, the Committee unanimously voted to approve the following applications for licensure:

RETURN TO PUBLIC On a motion contained in the Executive Session minutes, the Committee re-entered into Public Session to adjourn.
