Provides a review of bias-crime related New Jersey statutes
and relevant case law
INITIAL RESPONSE PROCEDURES:
Enables first-response
officers to effectively intervene in a bias incident
INVESTIGATION STRATEGIES:
Provides a practical approach to the
investigation of a bias incident
REPORTING: Provides
information on reporting procedures mandated by the "New
Jersey Bias Incident Investigation Standards"
VICTIM NEEDS: Provides information
on the effects of bias crime on the victim and community and
details the procedures that a first-response officer should
follow to mitigate the negative effects of bias crime
COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP'S:
Assists students in recognizing
the benefits of establishing good community relations infighting
bias crime
ALL STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN
THE NEW JERSEY BIAS CRIME TRAINING PROGRAM WILL RECEIVE A
STUDENT HANDBOOK FOR FUTURE REFERENCE AND A CERTIFICATE OF
COMPLETION.
