Philip E. Freeman
Assistant Director, Bureau of Prevention, Outreach, and Public Education (POPE)
 
  Philip Freeman has been with DCR for over 30 years and became the Assistant Director of DCR’s Bureau of Prevention, Outreach, and Public Education (POPE) in December 2001. He also serves as DCR’s Affirmative Action Coordinator and as a departmental disciplinary hearing officer in the Attorney General’s Office. Outside of his DCR duties, he is involved with the Walt Whitman Arts Center in Camden, NJ; Equal Justice Society; Camden County NAACP; and FBI Citizen’s Academy Alumni Association. He is a past member of the American Association for Justice; Southern Poverty Law Center Leadership Council; former government representative of the NJ State Board of Respiratory Care; past President of the Camden City Board of Education; past Chairman of the Camden City Zoning Board; past Chairman of the Camden County Human Relations Commission; past Chairman of the Camden City Human Relations Commission; and co-founder and former Vice-President of the Camden City Community Credit Union (now South Jersey Federal Credit Union). He received his BA degree in History and Political Science from Lincoln University and has a Master’s Degree in Human Services from Lincoln University and Taft Law School.
