On April 10, 2008, Michael Connelly, together with others, was indicted for knowingly promoting the commission of the crimes of racketeering, conspiracy, money laundering and promoting gambling involving a sports-betting ring at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. On January 16, 2009, Michael Connelly was convicted of N.J.S.A. 2C:37-2, promoting gambling, and was sentenced to three (3) years suspended sentence and fines.
