The DYFS-Central Section provides representation
to the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS),
where DYFS is seeking supervision of abused and
neglected children or is seeking termination of
parental rights where deemed necessary. The section
provides representation in matters originating
in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean,
and Somerset Counties. The section also handles
administrative litigation involving, among other
issues, challenges to DYFS licensing determinations
and findings of abuse and neglect where the child
is not removed from the home.
