Internship

The
New Jersey Division of Law offers law students
the opportunity to serve an internship during
their Fall or Spring Semesters or during their
Summer breaks. If accepted into the program, students
will be assigned to one of the Division's practice
groups, where they will be supervised by a Deputy
Attorney General. An Assistant Attorney General
will have overall supervision of the program.

During their internship, students will perform
a full range of law clerk responsibilities, including
research and writing and will have the opportunity
to observe a wide range of lawyering activity.
Students participating in the program will also
attend court proceedings, meetings with clients,
depositions and other special events. They will
also be eligible to participate in training sessions
offered to Deputy Attorneys General throughout
the year. |

Assignments to specific practice groups are
made based upon student interest. Assignments
which students may select may include: Child
Protection and Advocacy; Corrections and State
Police; Education; Employment Litigation; Environmental
Protection; Health and Human Services; Judiciary
and Prosecutors; Labor and Community Affairs;
Tort Litigation; Transportation, and Treasury
and Taxation. |
