TRENTON-
The New Jersey Office of Counter-Terrorism
will host its 2nd Annual Counter-Terrorism
Conference entitled, “Intelligence
of Today, Prevention for Tomorrow”
on Wednesday, October 13, 2004. The
conference is designed to help prepare
law enforcement to effectively detect,
deter and respond to the threat of terrorism.
We
invite the media to join us from 8:30
a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for introductions
and welcoming remarks in Patriots Theater
at the War Memorial in Trenton. This
will be followed by a special one-on-one
question and answer period designed
specifically for the media from 9:00
a.m. to 10:00 a.m., in the War Memorial’s
Turning Point Room, with State officials
and a number of the seminar’s
key panelists.
Due
to security concerns the rest of the
day’s activities will be closed
to the media.

One
of the New Jersey Office of Counter-Terrorism’s
main missions is to ensure that law
enforcement officers are equipped with
the necessary training and information
about terrorism to prevent, detect and
deter terrorist activity. To date the
office has trained more than 10,000
law enforcement officers.
