TRENTON – Attorney General Anne Milgram and Criminal Justice Director Deborah
Gramiccioni announced that a Morris County man pleaded guilty today to distributing child
pornography on the Internet.

According to Director Gramiccioni, Geecheng Chen, 54, of Long Valley, pleaded guilty
before Superior Court Judge John B. Dangler in Morris County to a criminal accusation
charging him with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, distribution of child
pornography.

At the guilty plea hearing, Chen admitted that on Dec. 17, 2007, he uploaded and distributed
child pornography using the Internet. A joint investigation by the New Jersey State Police and
the Division of Criminal Justice determined that Chen traded child pornography using AIM (an
instant messenger service) and Photobucket, a website that allows people to upload and share
pictures.

On April 4, members of the New Jersey State Police executed a search warrant at Chen’s home.
The search revealed several videos containing child pornography.

The Digital Technology Investigation Unit of the New Jersey State Police coordinated the investigation. Deputy Attorney General Lee Schwartz represented the Division of Criminal Justice at the guilty plea hearing.

The investigation began when the New Jersey State Police received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Chen is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Dangler on Aug. 29. The State will be recommending a sentence of three years in state prison.
