Un Hombre del Condado de Essex, se Declara Culpable de Reclamos Fraudulentos de $13,700 en Beneficios por Discapacidad

TRENTON –La Fiscal General Anne Milgram informó que un hombre del Condado de Essex, se declaró culpable de obtener en forma fraudulenta más de $13,000 en beneficios por discapacidad.

La Procuradora contra los Fraudes en Seguros, Greta Gooden Brown, dio a conocer que Basilio Barrett, de 53 años residente en East Orange, se declaró culpable ante el Juez de la Corte Superior Michael A. Petrolle, en el condado de Essex, de robo en tercer grado y efectuar falsas declaraciones en cuarto grado.

Durante el acuerdo de culpabilidad, Barrett afirmó que entre el 9 de noviembre de 2006 y el 13 de agosto de 2007, efectuó un falso reclamo diciendo que se encontraba incapacitado y no podía trabajar como especialista en servicios de la firma Public Service Electric & Gas Company. Barrett confesó que como resultado de este fraude, recibió $13,754 de Public Service Enterprise Group, la entidad que le pagó los beneficios por discapacidad.

La Detective Christine Barclay y la Vice Fiscal Cheryl A. Maccaroni fueron asignados a la investigación de este caso.

La institución Public Service Enterprise Group,inicialmente investigó este caso de fraude y refirió a la Oficina contra los Fraudes en Seguros del Estado para ampliar la investigación.

El Juez Petrolle, dispuso que Barret sea sentenciado el 8 de octubre próximo.
