Un Alguacil del Condado de Morris es Acusado de Brindar Trato Especial a un Preso a Cambio de Dinero

TRENTON - La Fiscal General Anne Milgram y la Directora de la División de Justicia Criminal Deborah L. Gramiccioni informaron que un agente alguacil del Condado de Morris ha sido acusado de conducta deshonesta al brindar un trato especial a un preso a cambio de recibir dinero.

La directora Gramiccioni, explicó que el Agente Alguacil Lee C. Maimone, de 42 años, residente en Mount Olive, fue acusado de cargos criminales al mostrar conducta deshonesta (segundo grado).

Los cargos fueron sometidos en la Corte Municipal de Belleville Township el 26 de febrero pasado, en contra de Maimone, agente de la oficina del Alguacil Maimone, quien trabajó como agente correccional en la prision del condado de Morrís. Se le acusa de extender un trato especial no autorizado a un prisionero y en retorno habria recibido aproximadamente 60 mil dólares. Maimone, se presume aceptó en forma parcial de los pagos indebidos de varios cientos de dólares.

La investigación estuvo a cargo de la Policia Estatal de New Jersey ,la División de Justicia Criminal y la oficina del Fiscal del Condado de Morris. La oficina del Alguacil del Condado cooperó con las investigaciones.

Maimone, fue suspendido en sus funciones sin pago y tendrá que comparecer en un tribunal para responder por las acusaciones.

Los delitos en segundo grado se castigan con sentencias máximas de 1- años en prisión y el pago de una multa de 15 mil dólares.
