Description: The Division of Criminal
Justice proposes to readopt with amendments
the Safe and Secure Communities Program rules,
N.J.A.C.
13:79. The Safe and Secure Communities
Program Act provided for the hiring of additional
municipal police officers and other law enforcement
personnel for community policing strategies,
creating a funding source by imposing additional
penalties on lawbreakers. The rule readoption
with amendments proposal primarily updates
the program consistent with current practices.
