The body of Daniel Favretto,
39, of Buena Vista Township, was recovered
this morning by the New Jersey State Police
Marine Bureau and T.E.A.M.S. Unit divers.
The discovery was made in Gibson Creek (Estell
Manor City, Atlantic County) about one half
mile south of Gibson Landing, which is where
the boat was put into the water.
Troopers using boat-towed
side-scan SONAR located his body at 9:15
a.m. today and directed the agency's T.E.A.M.S.
divers to the body. Mr. Favretto was recovered
at 10:00 a.m. He was declared at the scene
by a member of the medical examiner's office.
Daniel Favretto fell off
the family's 15-foot Carolina Skiff yesterday
morning around 11:00 a.m. He and his brother
Carlo Favretto, 42, of Richland, were on
the water to retrieve crab traps when Daniel,
who was driving, fell overboard as the boat
travelled across the water. Carlo was ejected
onto the creek bank as the boat struck land,
but he was not injured. Neither man was
wearing a life jacket.
The
accident is being investigated by Tpr. I
Robert Frake of the State Police Atlantic
City Station.
