Proposal
Description: The New Jersey Racing
Commission is proposing to readopt existing
rules (N.J.S.A. 52:14B-5.1c, N.J.A.C. 13:70)
governing the thoroughbred horse racing
industry in New Jersey. In the past five
years, the Racing Commission has proposed
a total of 28 rule changes – 19 new
rules and nine rule amendments -- in response
to evolving circumstances, industry concerns
and the concerns of the public. The Racing
Commission will continue to review its rules
on a regular basis, proposing and adopting
amendments as necessary and appropriate.
The rules proposed for re-adoption have
had an advantageous impact on the regulation
and conduct of horse racing, industry participants
and racetrack permit holders.
