Date of Proposal: January 18, 2011

Proposal Number: PRN 2011-018

Proposal Description: The Division of Criminal Justice proposes to readopt without amendment the Solid and Hazardous Waste Information Awards rules, N.J.A.C. 13:80. These rules provide uniform procedures and guidelines for programs established by statute that offer monetary rewards to the public for reporting violations involving the improper transportation or disposal of solid, hazardous, low-level radioactive or regulated medical waste or improper discharges into our ocean waters. The present rules were scheduled to expire on January 13, 2011. However, by the filing of this proposed readoption, the expiration date is extended to July 12, 2011. The Attorney General has reviewed these rules and determined that they continue to be necessary, reasonable and proper for administering the awards programs.

Summary of Proposal: A summary of the proposed amendments is posted at www.state.nj.us/lps/ruleproposals.htm. The full text of the proposal is published in the January 18, 2011 issue of the New Jersey Register.

Public Comment: Public comment on these proposed rule amendments will be accepted until March 19, 2011. Please direct all comments to:

Supervising Deputy Attorney General Eleanor R. Miller
Division of Criminal Justice
