Proposal
Summary: The Juvenile Justice Commission
is proposing to adopt two new rules, N.J.A.C.
13:90A, Juvenile Funds and Gifts to the
Commission; and 13:98, Suicide Prevention.
Proposed N.J.A.C.
13:90A will formalize procedures for
creating and administering juvenile and
facility accounts, reporting losses of funds,
reimbursing juveniles for lost, damaged
or destroyed property; and administering
proposed gifts to the Commission.
Proposed N.J.A.C.
13:98 will establish procedures for
suicide prevention at all Commission facilities,
including provisions for staff training,
facility-specific suicide prevention plans,
annual reviews of those plans, housing standards,
transportation of potentially suicidal or
suicidal juveniles and required notifications
and debriefings.
Formal Notices of Proposal were published
in the New Jersey Register on August 1,
2011 at 43 N.J.R. 1819(a) and 1823(a), respectively.
