Un ex -médico se declara culpable de suministrar recetas de sustancias controladas a cambio de dinero

TRENTON - El Fiscal General Jeffrey S. Chiesa anunció que un ex médico de Matawan,New Jersey, se declaró culpable de suministrar sustancias controladas peligrosas al dar recetas de narcóticos farmacéuticos médicamente innecesarios a cambio de pagos en efectivo.

Ki I. Song, de 70 años, de Matawan, se declaró culpable de distribución de una sustancia controlada peligrosa en tercer grado al comparecer ante el Juez Superior Bradley J. Ferencz en el condado de Middlesex. El cargo fue formulado por un Jurado Investigador el 21 de octubre de 2011.

El Juez Ferencz fijó la fecha de la sentencia para el 7 de mayo. Según el acuerdo de culpabilidad, el Estado recomendará que Song sea sentenciado a 364 días en la cárcel del condado y tres años de libertad condicional, además de 40 horas de servicio comunitario. A Song, también se le ordenó pagar una multa de $ 5,000.00 dólares

Al declararse culpable, Song, quien hasta el año2011 ejerció como un médico con licencia en la ciudad de Jersey City, admitió que el primero de junio de 2010 y alrededor del 19 de marzo de 2011, a sabiendas, recetó sustancias como Xanax, a cambio de un pago de $ 100.00 dólares sin el examen de la destinatario de la receta. Song, también admitió que hizo intercambios con los clientes en un estacionamiento de un restaurante en la Ruta 1 en Woodbridge.

El New Jersey, la Junta de Examinadores Médicos permanentemente revocó la licencia médica de Song por renuncia voluntaria el 20 de abril de 2011. La Vice Fiscal Kim Ringler estuvo a cargo de este caso a nombre del Fiscal General

El Procurador Interino Chillemi señaló que este caso del ex médico es el resultado de una investigación realizada por la Oficina de la Unidad en Seguros de Control de Fraude de Medicaid y la Unidad Especial de Investigación del Departamento de la Policía Estatal de Jersey City. Esta investigación se deriva de una investigación previa denominada "Operación MedScam".
