The proposed new rules govern the implementation of the game of Switch Hands Blackjack in Atlantic City. Switch Hands Blackjack is a variation of standard blackjack which is approved by the Division of Gaming Enforcement for play in New Jersey. Switch Hands Balckjack uses an optional bonus wager (an “ante”) that is made at the same time as the main wager, such that for every $5 wagered, $1 is wagered for the option to discard their first two face-up cards for two face down cards that the patron has not seen. All “antes” are made at the time of the initial wager and belong to the house and are removed by the dealer before any player “hits.”
