Recent events around the country highlight the importance of strong collaborative relationships between the police and the communities they protect. This summit will bring together state and federal leaders to discuss issues of concern and importance to the community. Summit highlights include a keynote address by the top civil rights prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice, the Honorable Vanita Gupta. Remarks will also be provided by the Honorable Ronald Davis - Director of the Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services at the U.S. Department of Justice. In addition to federal experts, the summit will feature the expertise of state and local leaders; including chiefs of police, county prosecutors, and top officials from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office who are responsible for the daily administration of justice in the State. Panelists will discuss community policing strategies, improving trust between the community and law enforcement, and how law enforcement investigates claims of police misconduct.
