Building Trust: Strategies to Strengthen Police/Community Relationships

Date: September 30, 2015
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
Location: Trenton War Memorial - Trenton, New Jersey

Recent events around the country highlight the importance of strong collaborative relationships between the police and the communities they protect. This summit will bring together state and federal leaders to discuss issues of concern and importance to the community. Summit highlights include a keynote address by the top civil rights prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice, the Honorable Vanita Gupta. Remarks will also be provided by the Honorable Ronald Davis - Director of the Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services at the U.S. Department of Justice. In addition to federal experts, the summit will feature the expertise of state and local leaders; including chiefs of police, county prosecutors, and top officials from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office who are responsible for the daily administration of justice in the State. Panelists will discuss community policing strategies, improving trust between the community and law enforcement, and how law enforcement investigates claims of police misconduct.

We sincerely hope that you will join us to discuss these issues that are at the forefront of the nation’s and the State of New Jersey’s consciousness. Seating is limited, so please register as soon as possible. You will receive a full agenda prior to the event. We look forward to seeing you on September 30th.

Paul J. Fishman
