MSPLR is responsible for appeals filed by State, county and municipal merit system employees, candidates for employment and appointing authorities. MSPLR staff functions as support for the Merit System Board, which has the authority to render decisions on such appeals. The Division also provides support for the Merit System Board's rulemaking responsibilities, serves as liaison to labor organizations representing merit system employees, and offers information and guidance on merit system law, rules and procedures.
