Twenty-three DOP employees will complete eight sessions
of CERT training during March 2004. These dedicated
volunteers will be among those honored at this year's
NJ Public Service Recognition Awards Ceremony, May
7, 2004 at the Trenton War Memorial.
New Jersey State Police Sergeant Joseph Geleta is
coordinating the training, which includes: disaster
preparedness, fire suppression, medical training, search
and rescue, disaster psychology and terrorism.
Governor McGreevey's CERT initiative gives State employees
an opportunity to make a difference in their home communities
and workplaces
in case of a disaster. Over 500 State workers are scheduled
for training.
