Representing Acting Personnel Commissioner Marjorie A. Schwartz, Meyer-Shipp spoke at the 2004 Annual State Convention of the N.J.S. Conference of NAACP Branches, held September 24-26 in Cherry Hill. This year's conference theme was "The Race Is On."

Meyer-Shipp shared information regarding the services provided by the NJ Department of Personnel (DOP), which include job placement in State and local governments, as well as training and development programs available through DOP's Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI).

"The DOP wants all New Jerseyans to have equal opportunity to build public service careers that are meaningful and relevant in today's world, in a workplace that is free from intolerance and discrimination," declared Meyer-Shipp.

Joining Meyer-Shipp on the podium were Commissioner of Corrections Devon Brown, Assistant Commissioner of Labor JoAnn Hammill, and NAACP dignitaries.
