Acting Commissioner Hope L. Cooper gave opening remarks at the 2008 Certified Public Manager Program graduation ceremony on August 15.
The Acting Commissioner praised the 215 graduates telling them, “In today’s professional arena, managers must be ready to meet challenges related to technology, globalization, workplace diversity and more. Those of you who have completed the CPM program have distinguished yourselves from your colleagues. Completing this program assures your supervisors of your management competency and credibility, as well.”
CPM is part of a national effort to develop effective management skills through training and education of supervisors and managers in State and local government, including those in the law and public safety community.
In New Jersey, the CPM Program is administered by the Human Resource Development Institute. The mission of the program is to enable participants to become more effective, efficient and ethical organizational managers.
