Jeanne M. Victor Appointed Director,
EEO/AA at New Jersey Department of Personnel

TRENTON, NJ — Commissioner Rolando Torres, Jr. has announced the appointment of Jeanne M. Victor, Esq. as the Director, Division of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action (EEO/AA) at the New Jersey Department of Personnel. Her appointment is effective June 25.

As the Director of the Division of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action, Ms. Victor will develop, implement and administer equal opportunity policies and procedures, and affirmative action programs for all State employees throughout New Jersey. This includes monitoring each State agency to ensure compliance with the various laws, rules and regulations pertaining to EEO/AA. As the Director of the Division of EEO/AA, Ms. Victor serves as the Executive Secretary for New Jersey’s Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Commission.

Personnel Commissioner Torres, said, “Ms. Victor brings a wealth of experience from the public and private sector. She will help us to continue our efforts in the field of equal employment opportunity and to sustain an environment that is inclusive. We are very fortunate to have her serving as Director of the Personnel’s Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action."

“I look forward to working with each State department to develop initiatives that adhere to the State’s EEO/AA statutes and regulations. I am honored to return to State government and to serve the citizens of New Jersey,” said Ms. Victor.

Prior to joining the Department of Personnel, Ms. Victor was the Senior Ethics Officer, Global Compliance and Ethics at Citigroup, Inc. She also served as Director at the Office of Workplace Policy Administration and Enforcement at the Office of the Attorney General. Prior to that, Ms. Victor served as Executive Director at the Governor’s Study Commission on Discrimination in State Employment and Contracting at the New Jersey Department of State.

She also served as Deputy Attorney General at the Division of Law at the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, where she worked from 1990 to 1999.

Prior to joining the Division of Law, she held civil engineering management positions with the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

Ms. Victor, a resident of Burlington, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York and received her Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers University, School of Law in 1990. She is a commissioner of the New Jersey State Ethics Commission.
