With a preconceived notion that the two-day training session which my supervisor deemed “a good learning tool” would be anything but that, I was pleasantly surprised to find this two-day training session informative, enjoyable, engaging and well organized. The data provided was pertinent to my needs and the needs of our department. It provided a more structured approach to understanding the appointment types, transaction types, class codes and occupational groupings. The trainers answered our questions…on the spot, without having to “get back to” us. These facilitators were seasoned experts who presented the information in a manner that was easily understood. They used excellent scenarios which forced the group to put on their “thinking caps” to truly understand the employee action as it is seen in the DOP’s eyes. They had us each give an AH-HAH or something we learned that we felt was useful to us. It was amazing to hear the little tidbits of information that made an impact. We were provided back-up material in layman’s terms that we can use as a reference, and we were offered additional resources for completing the necessary State paperwork in a timely manner (most times without having to send hard copies via mail – yeah!) with the appropriate tools so as to do it without error.

I must say for my first DOP training session I was truly impressed with the information, the handouts and the training personnel. I even believe with just a little more experience and practice on the new CAMPS system, I might actually be able to explain it to others!

Thank you! I will not hesitate in the future to enroll in DOP training sessions relevant to my position.

Sincerely,

Ronnie Cavanaugh

I attended two hands on training (CAMPS) sessions that were most informative. The instructions were clear and presented in an easy to follow sequence. The instructors made a fun and interesting presentation. It is an exciting new time for those of us who tackle civil service forms. Thanks to Valerie, Marsha and Nick.

"Woodbridge has set an excellent example in how to utilize this new system. By providing the DOP with timely and accurate information, Woodbridge is making a seamless transition towards using CAMPS to conduct the daily business of the town and its residents. Through the use of CAMPS, the time and labor that Woodbridge previously spent on cumbersome paperwork will be freed to spend on the important work of the town."

Brick Township Goes Online with New State Web-Based Personnel Administration System

"The Township of Brick has been selected as one of the first eight local governments to participate in the State's new internet-based Personnel Administration System (CAMPS). The new CAMPS will provide for greater efficiency in personnel management. We are honored that the State has chosen us to be one of the first local governments to participate in this ground-breaking innovation in human resources."

"The new CAMPS is a bold leap forward in government administration and we are thrilled to be on the cutting edge of its implementation."

"By using the Internet to interact with DOP for personnel matters, we will dramatically reduce the time and effort needed for personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, and retirement. What currently takes days or even weeks to accomplish will soon be completed in as little time as an hour."

"The Township of Brick was selected to be one of the first participants in CAMPS because of its accuracy and efficiency in maintaining employee personnel records. DOP reviewed our records and determined that we were ready to be brought into CAMPS. This is due in large part to our Human Resources Coordinator, Mrs. Nancy Nelson, who is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable public employees in the state."

  Scott R. MacFadden
Business Administrator

"By using CAMPS, managing our workforce and coordinating with DOP will become much easier and more efficient. CAMPS will greatly improve the way we perform many personnel tasks, including tracking applications for personnel actions, generating manpower reports and assessing the personnel needs of our employees."

  Nancy Nelson
Human Resources Coordinator
