With a preconceived notion that the two-day training session which my supervisor deemed “a good learning tool” would be anything but that, I was pleasantly surprised to find this two-day training session informative, enjoyable, engaging and well organized. The data provided was pertinent to my needs and the needs of our department. It provided a more structured approach to understanding the appointment types, transaction types, class codes and occupational groupings. The trainers answered our questions…on the spot, without having to “get back to” us. These facilitators were seasoned experts who presented the information in a manner that was easily understood. They used excellent scenarios which forced the group to put on their “thinking caps” to truly understand the employee action as it is seen in the DOP’s eyes. They had us each give an AH-HAH or something we learned that we felt was useful to us. It was amazing to hear the little tidbits of information that made an impact. We were provided back-up material in layman’s terms that we can use as a reference, and we were offered additional resources for completing the necessary State paperwork in a timely manner (most times without having to send hard copies via mail – yeah!) with the appropriate tools so as to do it without error.
I must say for my first DOP training session I was truly impressed with the information, the handouts and the training personnel. I even believe with just a little more experience and practice on the new CAMPS system, I might actually be able to explain it to others!
Thank you! I will not hesitate in the future to enroll in DOP training sessions relevant to my position.
