Marketing Expert and Entrepreneur brings expertise to state panel
Trenton -John Giere, President of G4G Advisory Services was recently named to the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology by Governor Jon S. Corzine. Mr. Giere has expertise in addressing commercial challenges including: sales, marketing, business development, e-commerce, venture financing, government relations and alliance building.
"We welcome Mr. Giere to the Commission," said James Coleman, Jr., Commission Chairman "Mr. Giere brings extensive business backgrounds and experiences that can really benefit the Commission and those who want to start or expand technology based businesses in New Jersey."
Prior to his position at G4G Advisory Service, Mr. Giere was Chief Marketing Officer of Alcatel-Lucent where he was responsible for the marketing, business development, strategic alliances, public relations and messaging activities of the company.
Before joining Lucent as their Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Giere spent eight years at LM Ericsson. He oversaw the areas of strategic marketing, business development, sales support and internal ventures. His tenure included a three and a half year assignment at the company headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden where he served as Global Marketing and Branding Officer and later as the 3G Business Development and New Sales Push leader for Ericsson Wireless Systems.
Mr. Giere has held several positions in public relations and public affairs. He co-founded the Kutak Rock GRG Consulting Group in Washington, D.C., and served as President. In 1992, he took a leave of absence from Kutak Rock GRG Consulting Group in Washington, D.C. to join the Business Liaison team for the Clinton Presidential Campaign and subsequently worked on the economic transition team.
Currently Mr. Giere sits on the Board of Directors of VNL Limited, India, Sonim Technologies, California and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) Association in Washington, DC.
He earned a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland. He completed a Senior Executive Management Program at Columbia University and is a certified Project Management Professional.
Established in 1985, the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology promotes science and technology research and entrepreneurship through the development and oversight of programs that impact economic growth. Commission members include representatives from industry, venture capital, academic institutions, and government.
