Promise Fellows
New Jersey's promise is
a state-level response to the President's Summit for America's
Future held in Philadelphia in April 1997. The national goal
is to mobilize volunteers to expand and enhance the efforts
of public and nonprofit organizations to help children receive
each of the five fundamental resources:
Mentor--provide
an ongoing relationship with caring adults
Protect--ensure
safe and structured activities during out of school hours
Nurture--assure
a healthy start and a healthy life
Train--Equip
with marketable skills through effective education
Serve--provide
opportunities to give back through community service
