Annual Statewide Conference

Stayed tuned for details for the Amistad Commission 2009 Annual Statewide Conference. The Amistad Commission is responsible for the coordination of an annual statewide professional development seminar for educators as well as the general public which provide the appropriate memorialization of events concerning the African Diaspora contribution and their descendents in America; most especially in relation to educational initiatives and curriculum development. Past titles have included: “American Reconstruction Reconsidered”, and “Race - A Justification for Segregation”. This yearly conference is in the winter and is open to the public. Educators will receive professional development credit through the Amistad Commission for their attendance.
