ISLES, Inc. requested $5000 in support of its Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) program.  The PEP program provides training and peer-based support to help parents in Trenton develop the skills need for healthy parent-child interaction, thereby creating positive learning environments for their children.  The comprehensive training curriculum, led by peer facilitators, encourages healthy parenting practices, creates a strong bond between parents, engages parents in community activities, and connects families to services and resources throughout Greater Mercer County and Central New Jersey.

V.I.S.I.O.N. (Vision Inspires Synergy In Organizations Nationwide) requested $5000 in support of its Children of Abraham United in Mission Project.  This program will provide three distinct Humanitarian Projects to be facilitated in Essex and Union counties; which will lead to, a multi-faith retreat.  The retreat is designed to help Jews, Christians and Muslims begin to foster better relationships with each other and understand the tremendous values that lead itself to a better humanity, which can be achieved via multi-faith collaborations.
WestSide Community Center, Inc.

WestSide Community Center, Inc. has requested $5000 in support of its WestSide Community Center Freedom School program.  This program will provide books for the integrated reading curriculum as well as team building T shirts for the youth and young adults participating in Asbury Park’s Children’s Defense Fund’s Freedom School Program.  The program is proudly rooted in the American Civil Rights Movement and the courageous efforts of college-aged youth to make a difference.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Newark

Boys & Girls Clubs of Newark has requested $4500 in support of its Youth for Unity-Street SMART program.  The Street SMART program is designed to help young people successfully identify, resist and resolve negative conflict, demonstrate tolerance, value diversity and perhaps prevent and reduce violence in their communities.  The program is built around a four-module curriculum which provides youth the opportunity to organize and execute community events that celebrate anti-violence and anti-gang themes.
Solid Rock United Pentecostal, Inc.

Solid Rock United Pentecostal, Inc. has requested $5000 in support of its New Jersey African American Legacy Program.  This program will launch its first of a series of “Community Legacy Programs.”  This initiative will celebrate New Jersey’s diverse communities as well as honor local African American heroes and community leaders.  Working in partnership with local residents, the general public, historians and contemporary figures who have been instrumental in building local communities and establishing community services.  NJAALP aspires to establish a state resource database and support materials that will be instrumental for school programs and local tourism throughout the state.
