A Platform Pipe from Crosswicks Creek

Identification: Straight-based platform pipe.

 

Cultural Affiliation: Influences ITom the intrusive mound culture from Ohio, showing a strong relationship to Kipp Island Phase from New York that date to the Late Middle Woodland period (Bello 1999: 141; Kraft 200 I; Ritchie 1965:228-229).

 

Provenience and Circumstances of Discovery: This specimen was identified at low tide along Crosswicks Creek in the vicinity of Bordentown, Burlington County by Mr. Tom Willert.
