Public Programs
PUBLIC PROGRAMS
Discover the world and its people through lectures, lessons and special
family events. The New Jersey State Museum provides quality educational
programs to enhance the museum experience. Enjoy dance, music and children's
theatre in a 400-seat auditorium as well as weekend workshops for children.
School groups find lessons tailored to their curriculum while adult
groups may schedule tours that explore special areas of interest. Many
visitors return again and again, to view a favorite painting, to rediscover
the history of New Jersey, to see changing exhibitions or to bring their
own children to the fascinating place they visited as a child. Whether
you are a first-time visitor or an old friend, the State Museum invites
you to visit and explore our four museums in one.

Family Activities
Most of the State Museum's programming is designed for a family audience.
Information and activites are geared toward people of all ages and levels
of expertise. Some family programming may be suitable for adults without
children.

Tuesday – Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm, Sunday, Noon – 5 pm.
PLANETARIUM
The Planetarium is closed due to construction. Watch the site for announcements about its reopening.

THE FRIENDS MUSEUM SHOP
The Friends Museum Shop is located at the Welcome Center of the State House Annex. The Shop is open from 10am to 4pm Monday through Friday. During December all State employees receive a 10% discount on all purchases. Friends members always receive a 10% discount on all purchases.
