Investigating the Prehistoric:
Expanded and now open – on extended view
Museum Auditorium – Museum-side and Street-side Galleries
Paleontology is often perceived as detective work. Using the metaphor of the CSI (Crime Scene Investigations) television series, this exhibition presents paleontological research undertaken by the State Museum scientists as a form of mystery investigation. It includes a display of how problems in paleontology and geology are solved using traditional techniques such as taphonomy and more high-tech approaches including geo-chemistry and CT scanning.
